Clear Gate Press presents Clear Path Stories, a collection of short stories for adults with learning, reading, or cognitive disabilities whose daily lives and experiences are rarely reflected in traditional books.
Existing easy-reading stories are typically written for children, teens, or ESL learners, or they assume levels of independence and social experiences that are not shared by all readers.
This collection bridges the gap by featuring relatable, adult situations without childish themes, instructional content, or unfamiliar plots.

Clear Path Stories is written for adults who experience reading and comprehension challenges due to learning disabilities, cognitive or developmental differences, brain injuries, or other factors that affect both reading ability and daily life. They're not children's books or ESL materials and are written to feel respectful and age-appropriate.
With clear language, steady pacing, and adult situations that feel familiar, Clear Path Stories supports reading in a way that feels calm, respectful, and achievable.

Each story ends on a positive, reassuring note, reducing anxiety and helping readers stay engaged.
The layout and design help keep reading comfortable, not overwhelming. The stories are intentionally kept to an average of 500 words and organized into a manageable set of 12 per book, making progress feel achievable.

The stories focus on familiar routines, interactions, and experiences, allowing readers to engage without feeling singled out or labeled. When readers recognize themselves or people they know in the characters, reading feels more comfortable and relatable.

By focusing on conversation and comprehension rather than performance, the workbook helps reinforce understanding, build confidence, and support reading in a calm, collaborative way.

Clear Path Stories was developed to fill that gap by offering adult-focused stories that feel approachable, comfortable, and worth returning to, with an emphasis on reading experience rather than instruction.
